In the last Password class on “Minimizing Surprises,” in the Q&A at about 53 minutes into it, Alex talked that it was laziness and not taking yourself seriously that caused the money management problems for experienced traders. That really clicked with me.
It resonated. I flashed back to the movie the Godfather, when Marlon Brando said, and this isn't meant to be sexist in any way "Women and children can be careless. Men can't be careless." As traders with a goal of being consistently successful, one can't be careless. Am spending a lot more time on record keeping compared to even a year ago.

Thank you for your class. I used your technique yesterday in my day trading account. I used your high and low bands yesterday along with the RSI and MACD. I was able to make a 22% return on 10 contracts on the 284 Put contract closing on May 6th. I traded this short-dated contract because I don't hold trades overnight.
Because of what I learned, your technique kept me from making any impulsive move prematurely closing out my trade. Of course, the index moved up and down during the day and I just let your indicator be my guard rail. Just like the guard rail you find along a bridge, it keeps you on the road and from going underwater. Your technique helped me be calm and disciplined. I let the tool do the work it was intended to do. I just wanted you to know that it worked for me yesterday and I'm very grateful.

I think I’m a grownup in trading now with my own set of parameters – mostly based on 8 SMA Low and ATR’s – plus the other stuff I write about in my weekly submissions. My goal is to spend less than 10 hours per week on trading, including Spike, and to make double digit returns. It’s been that way on all 6 accounts for several years now. I also have a pretty unemotional feeling about trading, and what a difference that makes! I don’t jump at anything anymore.

A number of years ago my wife and I attended a week long Camp with Alex in Costa Rica and greatly enjoyed the association with Alex and the other traders as well as the schooling we received. We took much away that has proved invaluable to us.

I got into trading around 2009. It wasn't until I read The New High New Low Index that I really started to feel like I had finally uncovered something that could give me an edge. Naturally that led me into Spiketrade, and from that point my trading has improved vastly. Kerry, your commentary and analysis of the S&P500 has taught me more in the few months that I have been in Spiketrade than all the years leading up to it.
I'm quite an active trader and usually hold S&P500 positions for 1-4 days, depending on the swings. The commentary you both give on the S&P500 has been immensely educational. For a day job a travel with the Williams F1 team around the world to each race and trade wherever I am. I read SpikeSpeak and US NH-NL and then go back to my charts. From there I place my orders and stops.
Thank you for the great job you are both doing. It is great to have found Spiketrade.

I can't believe it. My wife can't believe it. Since the Alabama workshop a few weeks ago, my trading account is up 4.5%, basically winning 3 out of 4 trades in the downdraft of the first half of October. Last week my computer crashed so I replaced it but I missed the bounce rally. This week I'm learning TradeStation, how to use the SpikeTrade journal, etc, so I haven't traded in 2 weeks. Next week is November and expect to be back in the saddle.
I continue to review your notes and homework procedures. Having a daily regime was missing before but now I have yours. What the workshop did for me psychologically was to watch both of you trade real money with confidence. That experience alone was worth the trip. But I learned so much more, both in class and out of class. I'm sure you are used to hearing this but what you both share weekly really impacts our lives. Thank you again. Appreciate your friendship and expertise.

I must tell you how valuable I found the video on your shorting WAC. It was extremely informational, as well as bolstering my knowledge of risk/reward/opportunity decisions. I frequently find myself getting out of a trade because the overnight “sleep” factor would be VERY uncomfortable, yet damn myself when the following day the trade goes the way I planned. Now I consider the decision a business decision, and realize there is a train coming into the station every day, and I can pick which one to board.

I began doing very well in trading: I only day-trade for an hour or two per day (stocks, futures and forex) and I am up 7.5% in my account in November for the first time in a very long time.
The method that I use is what we saw in Alabama, the only thing is that I am combining the Alex method with Kerry one and I put something of me.

Although I was the Global Head of Trading at one of the world's largest financial institutions, responsible for billions of $ of capital.....I had never heard of Force Index and Elder Ray! I now swear by the Triple Screen method....which can often stop me following the Spikers recommendations as whereas the weekly trends may be favourable....the Elder Ray oscillator won't let pull the trigger.

Your market comments tonight really made a point. So easy for me at times to get drawn into the market hype. Your comments tonight really peer through the smoke and examine the true present conditions without hype, sales pitch, etc. Both yours and Kerry's market assessment truly help me tune out the "hypesters".

I want to thank you for your great efforts teaching the traders' community how to be profitable. I really enjoyed the video-meeting. I am amazed how much information I got from SpikeTrade website. Thank you and Dr. Elder for creating such a great resource. I traded 6 stocks from the current week's pick. It was hard for me to do such short time trades (I hold mostly for a swing of several weeks, unless I am stopped out), but it worked very good. So I am learning.... I was listening to several presentations from the video vault, it was very, very useful. I also love your daily comments.

It's been an incredibly valuable year for me in terms of what I have learned through my Spike Trade experience. It's scary to think of the money I have wasted in the past throwing money at stocks from a misguided trade plan with no rhyme or reason. Kudos to you guys for putting together this stock trading training university where the competition fuels the pursuit to excel. It's the only place I know of that provides true training wheels for traders!
